To gather your thoughts and ideas of what is important for your student
experience, the MBA-SA has made a quick 1-2 minute survey to capture what
is important to you!

The MBA-SA has developed a Facebook page. Like and Follow for updates and
news about MBA-SA events and opportunities.

*OrgSync*
OrgSync is a college/university based network that serves as a bulletin
board, online forum, information sharing, and collaborative planning event
site is maintained by Clemson University. The MBA program has a page within
OrgSync for the sole use of our program. Why is this important??
OrgSync will connect you now and KEEP you connected to the MBA program long
after you graduate. You will not get MBA emails or even have your
clemson.edu mailing address forever. But you WILL have OrgSync access for
the rest of your life.
We are overhauling our page now and are opening registration at the link
below. You will also get an invite via your clemson.edu address. If you

*Philanthropy*
*Clemson MBA Student Association Outstanding Citizenship Award*
The Clemson MBA Outstanding Citizenship Award will be awarded to the
student who takes the most active role in philanthropy events this semester
and exemplifies the Clemson spirit of service to the community. The award
will be based on a points system for philanthropic activities completed
during the semester. In addition to being recognized with the Outstanding
Citizenship award the student who participates in the most philanthropy
events this semester will receive a $75 gift certificate to the Table 301
Restaurant Group.
The award will be based on the point system outlined below.
*Citizenship Points:*
1 point=A student will receive one point for every item donated to that
month's donation drive. Please email Lesley Horton at
Lesleyh at Clemson.eduwith a brief description of the items donated to
receive credit for your
donation.
10 points=A student will receive ten points for attending a joint
social/philanthropy event. (example: The MBA Christmas party that benefited
Toys for Tots). Please email Lesley Horton at Lesleyh at Clemson.edu to
confirm attendance.
15 points=A student will receive fifteen points for volunteering and
attending a philanthropy event listed in the weekly student association
newsletter. Please email Lesley Horton at Lesleyh at Clemson.edu to confirm
your attendance at these events.
*Point totals will be published with the Student Association newsletter on
the last Friday of every month. All part time and full time MBA students
are eligible to win the award. The current Clemson MBA Student Association
executive leadership team members are not eligible for consideration.*
*Donation Drive for February: Greenville County Animal Care*
*Attention Animal Lovers!* February is your chance to help the homeless and
in-need pets in our community. This month our donation drive is benefitting
Greenville County Animal Care. Greenville County Animal Care takes in over
20,000 homeless and forgotten pets every year and is in need of unopened
dry/canned puppy, kitten, cat and dog food, kitty litter, unopened dog/cat
treats, blankets, sheets, hand towels and dog/cat toys. Our donation box
is located in the 6th floor student lounge and will be there for the entire
month of February.
Please consider making a donation this month to help a pet not as lucky as
your own. All donations will receive points towards the Clemson MBA
Student Association Outstanding Citizenship Award. Please email
Lesleyh at Clemson.edu with a description of the items donated to receive your
point credit!

*Junior Achievement:*
Help upstate students develop the skills they need to succeed in a
competitive economy. The Junior Achievement of Upstate South Carolina is
looking for volunteers to teach young people from kindergarten through
12thgrade about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial
literacy.
Volunteers are able to choose school location, grade level and time to
teach. Each grade has their own corresponding curriculum and some middle
and high school grades have the ability to choose a curriculum according to
the subject it would be presented in (social studies, economics, etc.)

Another great option for volunteering with the Junior Achievement Program
is the Biz Bowl coming up on Friday, February 28th and Friday, March 7th at
Star Lanes in Greenville. This is team oriented event with individuals
forming teams of five, collecting pledges and bowling for two games. Please
email Lesley Horton at Lesleyh at clemson.edu if you are interested in forming
a team for this fun event!
Fifteen points towards the Outstanding Citizenship Award will be awarded
for each volunteer event attended with Junior Achievement.
*March of Dimes Cut-Out Campaign*
To benefit the March of Dimes we will be selling cut-outs for $1. Please
come by the 6th floor student lounge on Wednesday, February 19th between
and 5-6 pm to purchase your cut-out.
One point towards the Outstanding Citizenship Award will be awarded for
each cut-out purchased.
*Textbook Exchange*
If you dropped off a text book for sale in the MBA-SA exchange -- the
exchange is over! Come pick up your books/money!
Please come to room 738 to pick up your books and/or money from the book
exchange by the *last day of February*. Failure to do so by this date will
result in books and/or money being used as a donation by the Student
Association, and no refund will be provided. The office is open on Mon &
Tues 11:00- 5:00 and Thurs 10:00-2:00. If you need to schedule a pick-up
outside of these house, please contact Sydney at swyatt at clemson.edu.
*Networking and Professional Development*
Shawn Daughhetee is the newest member of the MBA-SA Exec team. She has
placed special emphasis on connecting the MBA program to the multiple
business networking and professional development events in and around
Greenville and the upstate. This column is a two-week snap shot of whats

*2014 Women's Leadership Conference: It's About Time!*

The annual Women's Leadership Conference began with Clemson staff and
students who believed in empowering women to reach their full potential.
This conference will be an interactive and educational opportunity for
participants to explore the skills and values that it takes to succeed
mentally, emotionally, and socially as a woman in modern day society.
Meanwhile, this event aims to open the audience's eyes to the milestones
women have made in the past, the endless opportunities available to them in
the future, and the steps towards achieving those goals.
This year's conference theme is, "It's About Time: Learning from the Past,
Embracing the Present, and Envisioning the Future."
Priority Registration Cost: $15 per Clemson student/$25 per non-Clemson
student
*Priority registration participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt,
notebook, and other conference materials!

series of events that connect Clemson students to career opportunities
in the Washington, DC area. Please see below for more information on

*TIGERS GO TO WASHINGTON*
If you are considering internships or full-time job opportunities in
the Washington, DC area, we want YOU to participate in Tigers go to

Monday March 3, 5-8pm: Professional Panel and Networking Event
Hendrix Student Center
All Clemson students are invited to attend the professional panel and
networking event on Monday, March 3rd from 5pm-8pm at the Hendrix
Student Center. Panelists include Clemson alumni, parents, and faculty
from a wide range of industries with one thing in common - Washington,
DC made an impact on their careers and they want to share their
experiences with you!
Please note: Students wishing to attend this event are required to
RSVP because space is limited. Attendees will be admitted on a

Tuesday March 4, 12-2pm: Luncheon with Panelists
Seasons by the Lake, Madren Conference Center
On Tuesday March 4th, a select group of students will be invited to
spend additional time with the panelists to discuss further about
opportunities in the Washington, DC area. This FREE networking
luncheon will be held at the Madren Conference Center's Seasons by the
Lake from 12-2pm.
How can I be one of these students?
We're glad you asked! Submit a resume (with GPA) and cover letter to
this posting. Having the overall GPA (not in-major GPA) is a
requirement to be considered. In addition to a polished and
professional resume and cover letter, the committee is looking for a
diverse, motivated group of students who are extremely interested in
interning or seeking full-time employment in Washington, DC.

To help students make the most of these events, the Center for Career
and Professional Development will be providing workshops. Students
planning to attend the networking events are strongly encouraged to

CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION WORKSHOPS
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in collaboration with
the Center for Career & Professional Development, will be presenting
workshops that discuss federal internship, fellowship, and employment
opportunities across the nation and in the southeast. Learn how to
find and apply for jobs and internships with the federal government
and the CDC, create and outstanding resume, and navigate the online
job portal USAJOBS.gov. Workshops are open to all majors and
facilitated by the Senior Advisor of the CDC's Strategic Programs
Office.
