THIRD LEAN AND FLEXIBLE CONFERENCE
Join Hoerbiger Corporation of America on their journey to learn and
advance Lean for high-mix low-volume (HMLV)
Website
http://www.pinnacleprocess.com/third-flean-conference
Goal
Small and medium enterprises (SME) engaged in high-mix low-volume (HMLV)
manufacturing operate more like jobshops. They do not operate like Toyota
with their multi-product assembly lines with each line assembling a
limited variety of automobiles. Therefore, in order to be able to deliver
orders by due dates to their many customers, HMLV manufacturers must be
both Lean (efficient and waste-free) and Flexible (able to rapidly
changeover their machines, work cells and support systems to produce a
variety of products). So how do we simultaneously achieve two seemingly
opposite and conflicting capabilities in the same production system? This
is the focus of the conference!
Takeaways
· Attend a tutorial on new approaches for building and operating a
high-mix low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing facility
· Attend a 2-hour workshop titled 100% of Lean tools work! 70% of
Lean implementations fail! on how to facilitate a successful Lean
implementation
· Discover how interns who received effective mentoring from
internal stakeholders helped Hoerbiger Corporation of America (Houston) to
execute important projects in a single semester
· Participate in an Open Forum Discussion with like-minded peers
working in HMLV manufacturing facilities
· Network with like-minded peers working in HMLV manufacturing
facilities
· Join the Texas Consortium for High-Mix Low-Volume (HMLV)
Manufacturing to share best practices and implementation experiences
A Special Takeaway
The conference will conclude with a raffle. The winner of the raffle will
get a free copy of a 5-DVD educational package on JobshopLean. These
DVD’s contain all the teaching materials that were developed to educate IE
students and practitioners about the concepts, methods and tools for
implementing JobshopLean.
