[Iefac.list] Save the Date: Material Handling and Logistics Classroom Day – March 19, 2014

In March, The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) of  MHI has partnered with the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) to host the Material Handling and Logistics Classroom Day at the MODEX Supply Chain Conference. MODEX 2014® is the industry's newest expo for the manufacturing and supply chain industries. It’s where the best and brightest thinkers in the supply chain gather to discuss the trends of today and the challenges of tomorrow. At MODEX you will meet 800 of the leading providers and see their solutions in person, in action.

Attending Classroom Day is an opportunity for students in Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics to
•             see the equipment and software used in material handling systems;
•             talk to representatives from companies that manufacture, design, and distribute material handling equipment and systems;
•             learn about career opportunities in material handling and logistics.

Classroom Day will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The show will be held at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. A detailed program will be available in January, but attendees should plan to arrive at the World Congress Center by 8:45 am. The scheduled events will be completed by mid- afternoon, although attendees are welcome to remain on the show floor until it closes at 5:00 pm. Planned activities for the day include:
     -- speakers providing an overview of the material handling industry;
     -- guided tours of the show floor to visit displays and talk to exhibitors;
     -- information about career opportunities related to material handling and logistics.

To defray the cost of transportation and lodging for universities within driving distance of Atlanta, MHI and CICMHE will once again be providing travel grants. Details on the funding amounts and the method to apply will be provided in January.
