Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Healthcare


A Post-doctoral Research Fellow position related to healthcare policy, health information technology or healthcare systems engineering is available in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (http://ise.utk.edu/).  Current activities in the department related to healthcare include federal and industry funded projects in the areas of healthcare systems modeling, simulation, and optimization, inter-professional education and research, and mobile health (http://ilab.engr.utk.edu/hits ).


Applicants should possess a Ph.D. Degree in industrial engineering, computer science or a related field, and sufficiently demonstrate abilities to conduct high-quality research and an interest in applying state-of-the-art operations research techniques to health care problems.  The research position involves assisting in current studies, writing research papers and preparing grant proposals in the area of healthcare. Salary and benefits are competitive. The 2-year appointment will start January 2014 with the possibility of a 1-year renewal contingent on funding and performance.
