Asia is nowadays the biggest manufacturing centre in the world, which calls
for a broad range of applications of Industrial Engineering techniques.
Emerging economy, such as service and environmental industries, also brings
in new challenges and opportunities for Industrial Engineers. The Institute
of Industrial Engineers (IIE), the world's largest professional society
dedicated solely to the support of the Industrial Engineering profession and
individuals, will have its first regional conference to be held in the Asia
area in June 2011 in Shanghai, China.

The conference is jointly organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and The
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Accepted full papers will be included in the conference proceedings.
Outstanding papers will be recommended to special issues of journals,
