To all:
The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Louisville congratulates Dr. Sunderesh Heragu on his receipt of the 2010 David F. Baker Distinguished Research Award from the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Dr. Heragu has been successful at attracting significant research funding, including a $3.3 million grant funded through the Department of Homeland Security, and a $1.8 million grant from the Defense Logistics Agency. These grants have pushed the total funding in force by IE PI's or Co-PI's to approximately $10 million in 09-10.
The IE Department is also pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Brent Stucker as the new Clark Chair of Computer Aided Engineering. Dr. Stucker is a world-class researcher in the area of additive and advanced manufacturing. He holds numerous patents, and has a long and successful track research record. We look forward to Dr. Stucker joining the faculty here on July 1 and continuing his outstanding work.
