*Background: *The Center for Rapid Product Development (CRPD), a cooperative
organization between AFRL and AFIT, provides a unique opportunity to bring
high quality products to war fighters in the shortest possible time at a
minimum cost. This is possible by blending creativity and sharpness amongst
graduate students primed for excellence. A team of faculty and experienced
entrepreneurs is working on projects of interest to create innovation
through short and iterative development cycles. The CRDP recognizes that the
pursuit of technology is only one factor in successful and innovative R&D
efforts towards leadership and prosperity.  Equally important factors
include people issues, effective and efficient processes, and appropriate
analytical tools for informed decision-making. CRPD provides a strong focus
in systems engineering, product development, and technological innovation
through academic studies and research applied to current Air Force and DoD
challenges.

*Objective: *The objective of this symposium is to create synergy amongst
stakeholders and make the best use of opportunity offered by AFRL and AFIT.*

·         Current CRPD Program at AFIT

·         Current Research Programs at Universities and DOE.

·         Research Perspectives from Federal Agencies
