TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION
 
The University of Alabama in Huntsville's Department of Industrial and
Systems Engineering and Engineering Management is seeking to fill a
full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate
professor level starting August 2009.  An earned doctorate in systems
engineering, industrial engineering or a closely related field is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in life cycle
optimization and teaching experience at the graduate level.  Prior
experience working in industry or government is also highly desirable.
Applicants should be student oriented, possess excellent teaching skills,
have a record of scholarly activity and show the potential for developing a
funded research program.  
 
UAHuntsville is located in Huntsville, Alabama, adjacent to Redstone
Arsenal, Marshall Space Flight Center and one of the largest research parks
in the country.  The Department currently has seven faculty positions and
offers an undergraduate degree in engineering (BSE) with a concentration in
industrial engineering and graduate degrees, both masters (MSE) and
doctorate (Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering) with options in
systems engineering, engineering management and  industrial engineering.
The Department also maintains an active multi-disciplinary research program
that provides immediate research opportunities.  The Huntsville area has a
wide range of cultural and recreation activities and a modest cost of
living.  The salary level for this position is competitive.
