As a current or former coordinator for the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates Program, we hope that you will share the following announcement with your students who are interested in science and engineering research.

CALL FOR STUDENT PRESENTATIONS

On November 3 and 4, 2006 undergraduate and graduate students will join research scientists from North America and abroad for a celebration of research accomplishments hosted by Sigma Xi,The Scientific Research Society, the global honor society for science and engineering research.  Abstracts for student poster and oral presentations are now being accepted at http://www.sigmaxi.org/meetings/annual/src.shtml .  
 
- Present research to be evaluated by leading career scientists. 
- Interact with eminent scientists and engineers from around the world at social events. 
- Network with graduate school recruiters and potential employers. 
- Attend educational sessions on cutting-edge research and effective science communication.
 

DEADLINE - Abstracts should be submitted by September 30, 2006 in order to appear in the conference program.

CONFERENCE LOCATION - Detroit Michigan, Marriott Renaissance Center

TRAVEL GRANTS - are available based on need.  Apply early as there are a limited number of grants.
