Dear REU Program Directors,

I hope your REU summer program is going well!

I am writing to make you and your REU students aware of the 13th annual 
Southern California Conference for Undergraduate Research (SCCUR) being 
held at the University of California, Riverside, November 19, 2005. This 
may be a perfect opportunity for your students to present their 
faculty-mentored summer research to a group of their peers.

This multidisciplinary conference regularly attracts over 1000 
undergraduates and their faculty mentors for a one day meeting. It is 
designed as a "first" conference experience. Students make either oral or 
poster presentations. The National Science Foundation understands the value 
for students who present their research and are co-sponsoring SCCUR this 
fall at UC Riverside.

Please see the attached conference poster and share this opportunity with 
your summer program. Encourage those students particularly with home 
institutions in the Southwest to register for this event. The conference
