Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to share your creative works in the Simulation
in Education track of the 2024 Winter Simulation Conference (WSC'24), which
will be held December 15-18 in Orlando, Florida. WSC is the premier
modeling and simulation conference providing a high-quality outlet for
simulation research and simulation applications including simulated and
immersive environments in education (such as virtual reality, augmented
reality, mixed reality, video games, artificial intelligence, Lego and
virtual labs, etc.). The papers will be published in ACM and IEEE Digital
proceedings. The full description of the Simulation in Education track is
provided below along with the submission deadlines. For more information,
please check out the Call for Papers

Please forward this email to your colleagues who may be interested.
*Important Dates:*
*April 5, 2024:* Paper submission deadline for contributed papers.
*April 26, 2024:* Paper submission deadline for Invited papers. Feel free
to send an email to the track co-chairs with the abstract of your paper to
assess whether your paper can be included as part of the Invited Papers.
*Simulation in Education Track Description*
The Simulation in Education track aims to share pedagogical, andragogical,
and didactic approaches that employ or promote the use of simulation in
education. These approaches could utilize technology-enhanced environments
(e.g., video games, simulations, mixed reality, pervasive computing),
non-technology environments/approaches (e.g., Lego simulations and
role-play), or a combination of both. The track is focused on educators and
trainers who are interested in incorporating simulations into classrooms,
and/or training programs to educate the next generation of scientists,
engineers, healthcare professionals, artists, humanists, and social
scientists. It is for anyone interested in learning and developing the
skills necessary to teach simulation. All learning delivery modes and
situations are of interest, i.e., in-person vs remote learning, formal vs
informal learning, K-12, higher education, professional training,
continuing education, adult learning, etc.
The track seeks work from all disciplines including but not limited to
engineering, science, medicine, arts, humanities, and social sciences. The
sessions in this track will cover a wide range of topics including but not
limited to:
• The design and development of simulation methods
• Teaching, learning, and assessment approaches for simulation education
• Use of technology and immersive environments in education (virtual
reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, video games, artificial
intelligence, etc.)
• Best practices and case studies of using simulation in education
• New tools and techniques for using simulation in education
• Challenges in implementing simulation in education
• Hands-on workshops or demonstrations of simulation software packages
• Simulation-based and experiential learning
*Simulation in Education Track co-Chairs*
