Dear Colleagues,

The College of Charleston invites applications for an instructor position in engineering preferably in Systems or Electrical Engineering (http://engineering.cofc.edu) to begin in January (preferred) or August 2023. The successful applicant will be in the unique and exciting position of growing these new programs in Systems and Electrical engineering which were launched in Fall 2020. The successful applicant must have earned a Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field prior to the appointment start date. The successful candidate is also expected to have excellent communication skills, be collegial, collaborative, and have a passion for teaching engineering courses at all levels. The teaching load is 12 contact hours per week, through a combination of lectures and labs. Factors such as outreach experience (K-12 and public), prior undergraduate teaching experience, and post-doctoral experience are desirable. This position is non-tenure track, but eligible for review in the sixth year for potential promotion to Senior Instructor, and if successful, eligible for review for renewal every seventh year.
The College of Charleston is a comprehensive university with a rich liberal arts and sciences core curriculum, enrolling approximately 10,000 undergraduates and 500 graduate students. Its Engineering program is uniquely positioned to collaborate with nearby companies Boeing, Bosch, Cummins, Mercedes, Volvo, and several other high-tech engineering industries in Charleston, SC.
