Dear Colleagues:
Professor Lei Fan's group has one full-time one-year term postdoc position in power system operations and planning at the University of Houston. The term can be extended to two years based on performance and can be further renewed based on the funding availability.
Required skills:
The candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. degree in the following areas: electrical engineering, operations research or other related areas. Furthermore, candidates need to have research experiences in the areas including but not limited to power system operations and planning, convex optimization, mixed-integer linear programming. Machine learning research experience is a plus but not necessary.
Preferred Skills:
Research experience on one or several of the following areas:
1. Power system operations and planning in microgrid, distribution system, energy storage systems
2. Stochastic programming, robust optimization, distributionally robust optimization
3. Convex optimization, non-convex non-linear programming
Compensation:
Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience.
