DESCRIPTION
The Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is delighted to announce a search for an outstanding tenure-track hire with a start date of Fall 2020. The department is especially interested in the area of service systems research contributing to advances in the management and operation of service enterprises (e.g. labor intense service industries such as healthcare, transportation, security operations, shared economy, hospitality and entertainment, supply chain engineering, etc.) with a strong methodological background in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research. Candidates are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded service systems research program; adopt innovative educational practices as they develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses; advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; and participate in local and external service activities. The search will be at the Assistant Professor level. The first industrial engineering department founded in the world, our department is consistently highly ranked for both its graduate and undergraduate programs.
