Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering (IMSE) at Iowa State University invites applications for a faculty position in the area of manufacturing at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor to begin in August 2020.


v  An earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field by the employment start date is required.

v  Manufacturing expertise should be closely related to

o   advanced manufacturing technologies and processes

o   digital manufacturing

o   advanced sensing and control, or

o   advanced materials manufacturing

v  Candidates will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, establish and sustain strong research programs in their area of expertise, act as adviser to graduate students and undergraduate student research, and provide service to the department, college, and university.

v  The successful applicant will be participating in all aspects of the department's mission, including developing a strong externally funding research program, teaching and supervising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participating in service to the university.
Preferred Qualifications:

?  Practical experience in manufacturing

?  Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate ability or potential for funded research and for excellence in teaching in the area of manufacturing

?  Candidates at the Associate/Full Professor level, in addition to the above, must demonstrate ability for funded research and for excellence in teaching in the area of manufacturing commensurate with qualifications for the rank at Iowa State University
