Human-Systems Integration Laboratory (https://cecas.clemson.edu/hcsl/) at Clemson University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher beginning in January 2020. We seek a passionate individual who will contribute to the growing research in virtual and augmented reality-based (VR/AR) technology to support collaborative work. The research involves both fundamental and applied research on VR/AR interfaces and interaction techniques, as well as empirical studies of how specific interface choices impact usability. The position is for three years and will be renewed every year based on performance.
The candidate will work with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of outstanding experts from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Arizona on an externally funded research project. Responsibilities: (1) Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance VR/AR user interfaces; (2) Build virtual- and augmented-reality based interfaces using Unity 3D; (3) Collaborate with other researchers, subject matter experts and software and hardware engineers to develop studies, and (4) Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.
Qualifications

*         A PhD degree in computer science, human factors engineering, human-computer interaction, human-centered computing or related field.

*         Two plus years of experience of Unity3D software development (C#) experience.

*         Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods to analyze user research data.

*         Candidates must have a strong level of spoken and written English and must be able to work both independently and in a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
