Abstract Submission (Facilities Design and Planning Track) for the 2019 Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Annual Conference.

Dear Colleagues:

The Logistics and Supply Chain Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Facilities Design and Planning Track at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo. The conference is a forum for exchanging knowledge and discoveries in the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner communities. The 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo integrates research and industry under one conference.

As track chairs of the Facilities Design and Planning Track, we would like to encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work as an oral presentation in a session or as a poster presentation. Each session will be 80 minutes and have four presenters. Two abstracts maximum will be accepted per presenter. Abstracts are welcome for the Facilities Design and Planning Track in the following areas:

*       Facility Design and Layout

*       Material Handling Systems

*       Storage and Handling Systems

*       Order Fulfillment Systems

*       Warehouse Automation

*       Warehouse Operations

*       Warehouse Management Systems

*       Distribution Operations

*       Cross Docking and Transportation

*       Container Operations

*       Inventory Tracking and Control

*       Sensor Systems for Warehouses

*       Ergonomics in Facility Logistics

*       Material Handling Education

We also invite all presenters to submit a paper for consideration in the IISE proceedings. The papers should contain results that are significant and have archival value to the industrial and systems engineering research and practitioner community. Full papers have a 6-page limit and will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Accepted papers will be copyrighted and indexed in the conference proceedings. Each accepted full paper would be considered for the Best Track Paper.

The important deadlines for the conference are:

  *   Abstract Submission Deadline:                                              November 9, 2018

NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSIONS

If your abstract or paper is accepted: (a) a 200-word abstract is required for the program; (b) the presenting author for the paper must register for the conference (presentations/papers without the presenting author registered for the conference will be withdrawn from the program and the proceedings); (c) the presenting author must attend and present the paper at the conference (presenting authors who fail to attend will have their paper withdrawn from the proceedings); and (d) we ask that you be ready to serve as a reviewer for fellow authors and follow review deadlines - all authors who submit a paper are expected to review two papers.

There are also opportunities to organize invited sessions or panels. In addition to research and practitioner presentations, the annual conference offers many opportunities for attendees, including the Applied Solutions Conference program, plant tours, networking, and keynote speakers.

Please contact anyone of us if you have questions. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
