[Iefac.list] Call for Abstracts for Lean Systems Track at IISE 2019

Dear Colleagues:



The Lean Division of the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) is sponsoring the Lean Systems Track at the 2019 IISE Annual Conference and Expo.

As track chairs of the Lean Systems Track, we would like to encourage you to contribute to the conference by submitting an abstract. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to present their work in a session. Abstracts are welcome in all lean systems research areas.  The following areas are some of the example areas:

  *   Lean Systems Optimization
  *   Effective Lean Systems Implementation
  *   Lean Systems Best Practices
  *   Lean Systems Approaches in Manufacturing Industry
  *   Lean Systems Approaches in Service Industry
  *   Advanced Lean Systems Research
  *   Lean Systems and Value Chain

The important deadlines for the conference are:

  *   Abstract Submission Deadline: November 9, 2018
  *   Notification of Decision on Abstract: November 30, 2018
  *   Submission of Full Papers (optional but encouraged): January 18, 2019

  *   Final Version of Full Paper Due: March 5, 2019
  *   Presenting Author Registration Deadline: March 8, 2019

SPECIAL NOTE on Lean Division Best Student Paper Competition

Please note that there has been changes to the Lean Division Best Student Paper Competition.
The new guidelines will require that the first author and presenter at the conference must be a full-time student, but it will no longer be required that all authors be full-time students. This will allow faculty advisors to also be listed as co-authors.

The rules, however, will require the faculty advisor to sign a statement that the paper and original results are predominantly the work of a student or student team. In addition, this year papers that will be considered for the Best Student Paper Competition should be submitted through the regular abstract and full paper submission site.
