*Open Rank Faculty Position in Analytics and Operations Management*
The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites
applications for a full-time, tenure track position in business analytics,
beginning August 2019. We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. (or ABD) in
operations research, management science, business analytics, or a closely
related field by the start of the appointment. Candidates should
demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching of business analytics to a
diverse student body. The successful candidate will develop a strong body
of research in their area of specialization.
The candidate should be willing and able to teach undergraduate courses in
introductory business analytics, prescriptive analytics and predictive
analytics in addition to courses in the candidate's area of scholarly
interest and background. This position will support our current and growing
needs in analytics. Responsibilities of this position are teaching,
research, and service.
The Freeman College, an AACSB-accredited unit, offers innovative
professional education in the context of one of the nation's leading
liberal arts universities. We believe that an education that combines
inclusive pedagogy, technical skills and deep intellectual exploration is
the best preparation for thoughtful and capable leaders. Thus, we seek
faculty members capable of contributing to this mission.
The Freeman College embraces the teacher-scholar model. Demonstrated
competence for high quality scholarship (commensurate with the applicable
rank) and excellence in undergraduate teaching are required. The business
analytics faculty at Bucknell has varied research interests, spanning
discrete optimization, pricing and revenue management, scheduling, supply
chain management and the application of operations research methods in
healthcare.
Candidates with post Ph.D. full-time teaching experience may be granted
credit towards tenure. A candidate hired as ABD must complete their PhD by
the beginning of their second year. Salary is competitive and commensurate
with experience. Additionally, we offer an attractive junior faculty leave
program and generous family tuition benefits.
