RAMP Competition Informational Webinar
Highlighting the New UMP Builder Tool
NIST will conduct a webinar to provide information about the ongoing Reusable Abstractions of Manufacturing Processes (RAMP) Competition.
_WEBINAR DETAILS_
*Date: April 5,2018 at 3:00p.m. EDT*
*Access:**https://tinyurl.com/yc4rsqld***
In addition to describing the competition, how to submit entries, and answering questions from viewers, the webinar will showcase the just-updated UMP Builder, an open tool that helps participants record Unit Manufacturing Process models--a main component of the competition. This is a follow-on to an earlier webinar (now viewable here [ https://www.nist.gov/video/ramp-2018-challenge-webinar-what-how-and-where-enter ]).
The RAMP Competition will evaluate manufacturing process models that apply the ASTM E3012-16 standard to lead to more robust, optimized, and energy-efficient production. E3012-16 provides guidance for characterizing manufacturing processes in a manner that allowsmeaningful sustainability performance analysis. The 2018 NIST RAMP Challenge is open through April 20 and offers prizes ranging from $1000 to $200.Finalists will be invited to present their entries in a workshop atASME MSEC [ https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.asme.org%2Fevents%2Fmsec&data=02%7C01%7Cmark.carlisle%40nist.gov%7C9e1c85922ca546506c9a08d58dcbf29f%7C2ab5d82fd8fa4797a93e054655c61dec%7C1%7C0%7C636570829473139700&sdata=Yr5rGRLorem0%2F%2B4r0lm4Y%2B2wAAP8f0tv23DgFBKX570%3D&reserved=0 ]in College Station, TX, on June 21.
