Two Assistant Professor Positions
The Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering Department
at the University of Texas at Arlington is seeking to fill two Assistant Professor positions,
(1) in Logistics and (2) in Manufacturing. (Position Numbers: F00020P and F00021P)
The Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for two nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor positions with a focus on (1) Logistics, and (2) Manufacturing, with a tentative date of starting employment in Fall 2017. These positions are part of the College of Engineering’s search for 12 tenure-oriented faculty members in thematic areas which are research thrusts of UTA’s Strategic Plan 2020: Bold Solutions | Global Impact: Health and the Human Condition, Sustainable Urban Communities, Global Environmental Impact, and Data-Driven Discovery. The key objective is to hire faculty members with outstanding qualifications who share the University’s core values of high standards of excellence in teaching, innovative and collaborative research, and service, combined with fostering an open and inclusive environment. Major emphasis will be on potential collaboration for research with faculty members from other departments across UTA and outside the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Logistics or Manufacturing. Develop externally funded research programs that result in publications in leading scholarly journals; present research work in leading scholarly conferences; supervise graduate students; and serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. degree (All-But-Dissertation, ABD, cases will be considered) in industrial engineering, manufacturing, logistics or a closely related field. The candidate should have a background in an emerging research area related to logistics or manufacturing. Candidates must also show a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering Department faculty are active in the areas of stochastic modeling, optimization and statistics; human factors; micro-manufacturing; systems engineering; RFID; logistics; operations research; and engineering education. The department is one of the fastest-growing on campus, and we also offer online programs to support working professionals, including the new master of science in engineering management and the master of science in systems engineering programs.
