Sponsored by the Engineering Economy Division of IIE.
This award recognizes the outstanding application of engineering economy in
a senior design project for an undergraduate student or undergraduate
student team.
Submit Papers via email to: Joe Wilck, wilckj at ecu.edu
Deadlines:
February 15: Paper Submission.
Early March: Finalists (3 to 5) will be notified.
IIE Annual Conference: Final Presentations
Eligibility Criteria:
The eligibility criteria will be that the lead (presenting) author must be
an IIE student member at the time of submission; and remain a member
through the presentation (may go from student to professional). The work
must have been completed while the students were undergraduates in an
industrial engineering (or similar) degree program. The work must also
have been completed in the prior year (e.g., July 2014 - onward for 2015
competition). The same work cannot be presented as part of the
Undergraduate Technical Paper Competition or for any other division/society
award at the annual conference. All authors must be undergraduates.
The organizer will verify with the IIE the membership status of the authors
and with the faculty advisor (and/or other faculty member) to verify the
work was completed by only undergraduate students. The application will
consist of submitting a paper (guidelines below) to the organizer
(committee chairperson). The paper will not be required to be submitted as
part of ISERC due to proprietary information that exists in some senior
design/capstone projects.
Submission Details:
Submission deadline will be February 15 for paper submission. The
finalists (3 to 5) will be notified by in early March. The finalists will
then be invited to present at the conference in a special undergraduate
senior design engineering economy session (they will be financially
responsible for all costs associated with attending the conference). The
papers will be submitted via email to the organizer. The organizer will
verify with the IIE the membership status of the authors and with the
faculty advisor (and/or other faculty member) to verify the work was
completed by only undergraduate students.
Full details are attached.
Sincerely, Joe Wilck
