Dear Colleagues,

We are currently looking for several Ph.D. Students. The general research area has some flexibility and can fall into the following categories:

* Logistics and Supply Chain Management

*         Production/Service Planning and Scheduling

*         Lean Six Sigma Modeling

*         Energy Systems Modeling

*         Artificial Intelligence

*         Sustainable Systems Modeling
Ideal candidate will have academic training in operations research, simulation, programming, math and statistics. An engineering, computer science or a math degree is preferred. Relevant industry experience and having at least one industrial/systems engineering degree are plusses.

The students will be enrolled in the systems optimization and management track under the INES (Infrastructure and Environmental Systems) Ph.D. program (http://ines.uncc.edu).

Please feel free to share this announcement with others/students who may be interested. The students should contact me (Ertunga.Ozelkan at UNCC.edu<mailto:Ertunga.Ozelkan at UNCC.edu>) as soon as possible about their interest and submit their application through the UNC Charlotte graduate admissions web-site (http://graduateschool.uncc.edu/future-students/admissions) by the end of March, 2014 for consideration for assistantships.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Ertunga Ozelkan
