Dear Colleagues,

The Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing at the University of Kentucky is accepting abstracts from tenure-track Assistant Professors for the 4th International Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing scheduled to be held on September 12, 2014 at the Hilary J. Boone Center, University of Kentucky.

Organized by the University of Kentucky for the fourth successful year, this event is intended to bring together nationally and internationally known experts in sustainable manufacturing from industry, academia and federal agencies to examine advances in sustainable manufacturing at the product, process and systems (including supply-chain) levels. This highly focused event will provide a unique opportunity to foster close interactions and communication between academic researchers, industry professionals and students engaged research and promoting the practice of sustainable manufacturing.

This year, in addition to invited speakers, a select number of presentations by tenure-track Assistant Professors engaged in research on sustainable manufacturing and related areas (from engineering and non-engineering fields) are to be included. Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, a $1000 award will be made to Assistant Professors whose abstracts are selected for presentation at the forum to cover registration, hotel and travel expenses. Applicants must be affiliated to a university in the United States to be eligible to receive this award.

The deadline to submit the abstract is June 20, 2014.
