The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at National 
Chiao Tung University (NCTU) in Hsinchu, Taiwan invites applications for 
two tenure track positions. We seek outstanding candidates for faculty 
positions in all areas of Industrial Engineering – methodological and 
applied – including (1) Production/Operations Management, (2) 
Intelligent Manufacturing, (3) System Informatics and Control.

National Chiao Tung University is located next to the Hsinchu Science 
Park, the “Silicon Valley” of Taiwan. Over the years, NCTU, the 
forerunner of science and technology, has been playing a key role in 
technology innovation as well as entrepreneur incubator for the 
high-tech park. Recently, a national bio-medical industrial park is 
established in the vicinity of the campus. With its strengths in ICT and 
high-tech management, NCTU will have substantive contributions to 
biomedical engineering in Taiwan. The Department of Industrial 
Engineering and Management (IEM) of the NCTU was established in 1984. 
Its mission is to be a premier department providing education and 
leadership in research, development and application of technology and 
knowledge in the Industrial Engineering domain. Individuals will be 
considered if their capabilities and research interest are compatible 
with the mission of the department.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in related fields. Applicants must 
have demonstrated outstanding records or potential in research. It is 
required to teach courses in English at both undergraduate and graduate 
levels. Interested parties are invited to send the following materials: 
(1) a curriculum vitae with a publication list, (2) research and 
teaching statements, including your research areas and the courses you 
will offer, (3) a transcript of graduate studies and a copy of your 
dissertation as well as Ph.D. diploma, and (4) two recommendation 
letters.
