Dear Colleagues:

 

IEOM Forum is organizing the Global Engineering Education Sessions as part
of IEOM 2014 Conference which will be held at Grand Hyatt, Bali, Indonesia,
January 7-9, 2014 ( <http://iieom.org/ieom/global-engineering-education/>
http://iieom.org/ieom/global-engineering-education/). Distinguished speakers
will discuss engineering graduates readiness for the workface around the
world. There may be different levels of readiness/competence of engineering
graduates from various of the globe. The primary theme of the Global
Engineering Education Series is focused on how to reduce the "readiness gap"
around the world. This special focus is on industrial engineering education.
Are the engineering graduates of today ready to take on the challenges of
the emerging global economy?  If not, educators and industry professionals
should find a way to integrate theory and practice.

 

Initially we planned to schedule a dedicated session for the last two days.
Based on the interest and the feedback received, IEOM Forum has extended
Global Engineering Education Sessions for all three days of the Conference.
We are looking for additional speakers who can deliver outstanding speech on
the globalization of industrial engineering education. The speech should not
exceed 30 minutes. We have attached a list of the speakers who have agreed
to be part of the Global Engineering Education Series. 

 

The conference does not have the funds to cover travel expenses including
lodging and registration fees for the speakers. We can provide a reduced
registration fee of $400 for the Global Engineering Education speakers. If
you have an interest in speaking at the IEOM Conference, please contact us.

 

Again, the 2014 IEOM Conference is a great networking event for graduate and
undergraduate students to interact with people from more than 60 countries.
In addition, students will have an opportunity to attend technical, keynote,
plenary and global engineering education sessions.
