The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) program at the School
of Engineering invites applications for an assistant professor
tenure-track faculty position in Industrial Engineering. The position
requires a Ph.D. degree, with at least one degree in industrial
engineering or a closely related field. The position involves teaching
at all levels from undergraduate to advanced graduate courses and
establishing basic and applied research track in the area of healthcare
and/or six sigma/quality. The candidate is expected to have excellent
communication skills, ability to work effectively in teams, and the
ability to develop industrial relations, particularly leading to funded
research.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is a public
comprehensive university of 14,000 students located 17 miles from
downtown St. Louis, Missouri on 2,660 acres of beautiful rolling wooded
hills. With a student-to-teacher ratio of 17 to 1, SIUE offers the
advantages of a small, liberal arts college with the lowest tuition of
12 state universities in Illinois. U.S. News & World Report Best
Colleges of 2013 lists SIUE among the top 15 public universities in the
best Regional Universities Midwest (master's granting) category for the
ninth consecutive year. The IME program has about 120 students, offering
ABET accredited B.S. degrees in Industrial and Manufacturing
Engineering, and M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering along with a
cooperative engineering science doctoral degree with the sister campus
at Carbondale.
