Post-Doctoral Position Opening
The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) invites applications for a Postdoctoral fellowship in the core of Health Informatics and Decision Making. This is a full time position with funding available for up to two years.
The Health Informatics and Decision Making core of CTSI focuses on the development of methods and technology applications to support clinical decision-making and its main goal is to facilitate clinical research, evaluate clinical practice, enhance medical decisions and ultimately improve patient care. The on-going projects of the group include the development of decision support systems to assist in decisions related to end of life care; development of novel data mining techniques for prognostication; development of mobile applications for management of chronic diseases.
The post-doctoral fellow will be conducting research in methods and software applications for medical decision support, health informatics, and data mining. Other duties include data collection and data analysis, publishing peer reviewed manuscripts, participating in seminars and work groups, and assisting other research members of CTSI in research grant applications.
The ideal applicant would have a Ph.D. in Engineering, Information Systems/Decision Sciences or closely related field, strong background in programming languages (C++, objective C, etc.),  and experience in design/development of information systems. Research experience in medical decision support and data mining is preferred. General knowledge of bioinformatics principles is encouraged. In addition, the ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and publications in English.
The annual salary is set according to experience of the candidate. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
