[Iefac.list] Third IEOM Istanbul Conference Update and Some Concerns with Reuse of our Conference Name

Dear Colleagues:

 

I would like to give an update for our third International Conference on
Industrial Engineering and Operations Management which was held during July
3-6. We had more than 300 people from more than 40 counties. We had pretty
full and diverse attendees. We got numerous positive comments about our
involvement in promoting IE on the other part of the world. We will
announcing soon our Fourth IEOM 2014 Conference which is scheduled to be
held in a Nusa Dua‘s Resort at Bali, Indonesia, January 7-9, 2014.

 

We held our first conference in Dhaka 2010 (about 100 participants), the
second conference in Kuala Lumpur, 2011 (about 170 participants) and the
third conference in Istanbul 2012 (more than 300 participants). IEOM is
quite known at the east Europe, middle east, and South east Asia.

 

We recently found  few activities that a number of organized groups uses
IEOM  credentials, success, name and source code to mimic the IEOM
conference style, name and coverage at their conferences. Some of these

IEOM has achieved its trademarked and the conference name (International
Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations ManagementÔ) with US
Patent and Trademark Office. It was approved on August 16, 2011. I am
attaching the proof here.

 

I would like to inform you that we are not the part of those conferences and
we are willing to send official complains to those organizations (and legal
actions, if necessary) to stop imitating IEOM name and portfolio any
further. I hope, these organizations will understand and deter using IEOM
name any more.
