Dear colleagues:
FYI... The Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Bangalore Chapter is convening the 54th Annual convention and International Conference at NIMHANS Convention Centre, Bengaluru. The Convention is being organized in Two Parts, the Pre-Convention on the 29th October 2012 and the Main Convention on the 30th & 31st October 2012. The theme of the conference is "Paradigm Approaches for Addressing Global Challenges and Leveraging Opportunities 2025". As in the U.S., part of the conference is research-oriented and the rest is practitioner-oriented.
The conference would welcome U.S. based academics and practitioners. If you are interested in and able to attend the conference, and have any questions, please email me and I can point you in the right direction and even try to get a special session organized for/by you. If you would like to build international networks in IE, especially in India, this conference will allow you to do so. The conference brochure can be downloaded at http://www.iiiebc.in/
On a related but different note, the IIE (Institute of Industrial Engineers) will organize its first International IIE Conference in Istanbul from July 1-3rd 2013. Ihsan Sabuncuoglu, Chair at Bilkent University and I are the conference co-chairs. I have every reason to believe that it will be an outstanding conference - we should have the website up and running in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
Warm regards
Bopaya Bidanda
