Dear colleagues:
If any of you are teaching courses on facility layout, and would like to
explore the use of PFAST (Production Flow Analysis and Simplification
Toolkit) during that course, please contact me. PFAST is now accessible
online at the Polymer Portal at <http://polymerportal.org>
http://polymerportal.org which is owned by PolymerOhio (
<http://www.polymerohio.org> www.polymerohio.org) . PFAST is intended as a
front end to popular facility layout packages like STORM, SPIRAL,
FACTORYFLOW and PLANOPT). For complete information on PFAST online, please
visit <http://pfast.osc.edu/> http://pfast.osc.edu/.
We are interested in receiving feedback on the usability of the portal as
well as the software itself. So, if you are interested, or even just
curious, please let me know. I will gladly connect you with our partners at
the Ohio Supercomputer Center and PolymerOhio to ensure that your entire
class has unlimited access to PFAST for the entire semester (or quarter, as
the case could be). In particular, if you have data on service lines (or
patient pathways) in hospitals, then PFAST could provide you some
interesting insights on deficiencies, if any, of the current layout of that
hospital.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Shahrukh
