FACULTY OPENINGS IN ALL AREAS OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AT FULL PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, AND ASSISTANT PROFESSOR LEVELS

DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING, TSINGHUA UNIVERSITY, BEIJING, P.R. CHINA

For the 2012 academic year, the Department has several faculty openings in any areas of industrial engineering at all levels. It is expected that all new faculty who will join in the Department could teach in English. The standard teaching load in the Department is two courses per year. The emphasis of the departmental faculty is to produce high quality, high impact research which is disseminated in the leading international journals. 
Competitive candidates are encouraged to (but do not have to) apply for the Recruitment Program of Global Experts ("1000-person" plan, http://www.1000plan.org) which is supported by the China central government, under an agreement with and the help from the Department. Besides the regular program for full professors aged less than 55, the "1000-person" plan has a special program for young scientists aged below 40 and another special program for senior non-Chinese professors/experts aged less than 65. Applicants for the "1000-person" plan should be able to work in China for at least 9 months per year for three continuous years. The supports of the regular program include one million RMB for relocation, one to three millions RMB for research, 500~800k RMB yearly salary, and a furnished apartment for rent.
