Applications are invited for a tenure-eligible position at the Assistant Professor level, expected to be available in Fall 2011. Candidates are required to have a background in Systems Engineering, a Ph.D. in industrial engineering or other allied field (by Fall 2011), with at least one degree from an ABET-accredited institution. Candidates must also have effective written and communication skills, a record of scholarly achievement, familiarity with writing proposals for competitive funding, and the background to teach and establish a research focus in the modeling, design, analysis, and optimization of complex integrated systems in areas such as supply chains, homeland security, manufacturing, service, healthcare, sustainability, or renewable energy. The candidate will be expected to publish scholarly work, advise undergraduate and graduate (including Ph.D. level) students, secure and conduct externally funded research, and develop industry-based research.
A commitment to diversity and the ability to work with a diverse population are required. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching and industry experience and ability to teach other industrial engineering courses.
