[Iefac.list] Invitation to Participate in Online Chat Group devoted to ISE in Health Care

Colleagues:

I invite you to consider joining and participating in an online chat group
that I have started at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/ise4hc/ .  There
is so much more to the practice of the science and tools of our profession
compared to buzzwords like Lean, Six Sigma and TOC offer.  Yet, if the state
of affairs in the health care sector is any indication, a non-ISE with a LSS
<any color>Belt Certification appears to have more credibility than an ISE
who possesses a wider repertoire of skills and project offerings.  I firmly
believe that we need to innovate and produce a new body of practical
science-based knowledge that our students could avail of.  At least I know
that is possible in some of the subjects that I teach and do research in.
If others in our academic community would contribute, that would be really
valuable and beneficial to the profession.  So, if you have an established
program of practice-based ISE research and teaching in health care, I
sincerely hope that you will join and contribute to this new group's
discussions.  Thank you.
