Industrial and Systems Engineering:  Tenure-Track Faculty Position

 The Industrial & Systems Engineering Program invites applications
tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate
Professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a starting date of
September 1, 2009.  Established in 1986, the ABET/EAC accredited Engineering
Programs at University of San Diego (USD) have been recently ranked as among
the top 30 programs at non-Ph.D. granting institutions by U.S. News and
World Report.  USD is a Roman Catholic University that provides a high
quality undergraduate education by emphasizing small classes and a high
level of faculty-student interaction. 

 

An earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field is
required (Aug 2009) along with at least one degree in Industrial
Engineering. Candidates in all areas of ISyE will be considered. Preference
will be given to those candidates who: 

.         Demonstrate the ability to teach manufacturing processes and
manufacturing systems.

.         Can teach other courses throughout the Industrial and Systems
Engineering.

.         Possess excellent verbal communication skills. 

.         Have industrial experience.

 

To ensure that the committee is able to accurately assess how well you may
fit into our program please submit the following in addition to your CV and

.         ISyE courses you have taught previously 

.         ISyE courses you are qualified to teach and those you would most
prefer to teach 

.         Potential for conducting research within an undergraduate
engineering program 

.         Relevant industrial experience 

.         Names, addresses and telephone numbers of at least two
professional references
