[Iefac.list] IIE Lean Student Paper Competition 2009 Winners Announcement

IIE Lean Division is pleased to announce the winners of the third Lean
Student Paper Competition sponsored by J T. and Carol S. Black. The
competition recognizes outstanding papers in the field of lean research and
practices.

 

First Place goes to Inder S. Dhillon, David C. Hamilton, and Brian J. Rumao
with the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan for their paper titled
"Determining the Effectiveness of Specialized Bank Tellers".

 

Second Place is awarded to Ozgur Kabadurmus with the Auburn University,
Auburn, Alabama for his paper titled "A Comparative Study of POLCA and
Generic CONWIP Production Control Systems in Erratic Demand Conditions". 

 

Awards will be given at the IIE Annual Conference in Miami, Florida, May 30
- June 3, 2009. Winning papers will be presented at the Industrial
Engineering Research Conference (IERC), 2009.
