Mayo Clinic is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its
first Conference on Systems Engineering & Operations Research in Health
Care, to be held in Rochester, MN, on September 22 and 23, 2008.
Increasing demand for new knowledge and skills, adoption of new
standards to improve patient outcomes, and translation of cutting edge
research into effective patient care require that health care
professionals enhance their current understanding and knowledge of
Systems Engineering and Operations Research methods. We intend to
provide participants with awareness and basic knowledge of these methods
and their potential application in improving healthcare operations.

Topics include:

* Simulation Modeling

* Patient Access Management

* Surgical Suite Management

* Medical Decision Making

Abstracts are invited for posters demonstrating successful application
of SE/OR methodologies to health care problems, novel techniques for

addressing pertinent problems in health care, and recent research
findings in the field.
