Industrial Engineering


We are seeking outstanding candidates for two tenured faculty positions
for the 2008-2009 Academic Year.  Positions are available at the
Associate or Full Professor level.  Individuals will be expected to
teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, publish, conduct
funded research, strengthen transdisciplinary relationships, and provide
service to the discipline and the community.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

An earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or closely related field;
record of outstanding scholarly publications; history of research
proposal development and funding; excellent teaching and student
mentorship ability, and strong communication skills, all appropriate to
rank.  Area of specialization in either Operations Research or
Information Science.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, or
mathematical/physical science; faculty experience in a U.S. academic
institution; and, in addition:

     

FOR INFORMATION SCIENCE POSITION

*        Research capability in one or more emerging area(s) such as
bioinformatics, computer and information security, data mining,
enterprise computing, health care information systems, human-computer
interaction, real-time embedded control systems, RFID, supply network
integration and logistics, or sustainability.

*        Information Systems applications with an ability to bridge
research disciplines within Arizona State University.

 

FOR OPERATIONS RESEARCH POSITION

*        Research capability in system modeling with interests in
emerging areas such as bioinformatics, financial systems, health care
systems, homeland security, medical decision making, sustainability,
transportation and logistics, or urban services.

*        Demonstrated evidence of ability to bridge research disciplines
within Arizona State University.
