As the chair for the Lean Manufacturing Session of the Industrial
Engineering Research Conference 2008 (IERC 2008), I would like to inform
you that we are accepting abstracts for presentations and papers. If
interested and can meet the deadlines below, you can email me your name
directly, and I can email you an invitation to submit your abstract(s).

All submissions and reviews for the IERC will be done electronically.

Contributions may be of four types:
(1) presentations accompanied by full papers,
(2) presentations with abstracts,
(3) tutorials,
(4) poster presentations with abstracts.
An initial abstract of 200 or fewer words is required in all cases, and
contributors must specify the type of presentation. All contributions
for the conference will be peer-reviewed. If your presentation is
accepted, we ask that: (a) you and/or a co-author register for the
conference by April 4, 2008; (b) you and/or a co-author will attend and
present the paper at the conference; and (c) you are also willing to
serve as a reviewer for fellow presenters and follow review deadlines.
The 2008 IIE Annual Conference theme is "How Businesses Take Flight."
DEADLINES: These dates will be strictly adhered to:
Submission of initial abstract: October 26, 2007
Notifications of acceptance/declines of abstracts sent: December 8, 2006
Submission of papers (this is optional, not a requirement): January 25,
2008
Notification of acceptance/declines of papers: March 14, 2008
Final paper due: March 28, 2008
Speaker registration deadline: April 4, 2008.
