As members of IERC 2008 Computer and Information Systems Track 
Organizing Committee, it gives us immense pleasure to invite you to 
chair a session at the Industrial Engineering Research Conference to be 
held in Vancouver, British Columbia from May 17-21, 2007.
 
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to supply chain and 
enterprise systems, human-computer interaction, data mining and 
knowledge management, software engineering, computer networks and grids, 
web-based systems, computer and information systems security, artificial 
intelligence and expert systems, decision support systems, and 
information systems applications in critical infrastructure areas such 
as homeland security. If you are interested in additional topics, please 
let us know.
 
As session chair, you would be responsible for inviting 3 to 4 speakers 
in the above topic area. The total session will be of 75 minutes 
duration. We would also expect your cooperation in ensuring the high 
quality of the papers presented by screening the initial submissions, 
reviewing the manuscripts and / or extended abstracts (if papers are not 
submitted), as well as ensuring that at least one of the authors 
presents and also registers for the conference. As session chair, we 
would also appreciate your presence at the session in order to conduct 
the proceedings.
 
For your planning purposes, here are some of the confirmed deadlines of 
abstract / paper submissions:
Submission of initial abstract: October 26, 2007
Notifications of acceptance/declines of abstracts sent: December 14, 2007
Submission of papers (this is optional, not a requirement): January 25, 
2008
Notification of acceptance/declines of papers: March 14, 2008
Final paper due: March 28, 2008
Speaker registration deadline: April 4, 2008.
 
Since we are working on a very tight research conference 
program-planning schedule, we would greatly appreciate receiving your 
reply by the close of October 5^th , 2007.

to participate, we would very much appreciate your recommendation for 
qualified candidates to serve as a session chair.
