The 18th International Conference on Flexible Automation and Intelligent
Manufacturing (FAIM2008) focuses on current research, best practices and
future trends within the areas of global competitiveness, rapidly advancing
technologies in flexible automation, information management, and intelligent
manufacturing.  The conference provides a forum for both researchers and
