[Bgs-list] Questioning the existence of plantation mentality in college & pro sports?

'll keep it short and simple.

I agree with all those points. I stand against and have spoken against all
those situations you mentioned. However the discussion was with regards to
slavery. Not a slave mentality but slavery. We literally discussed
freedoms, pay, physical nature of the two. Never about mentality. There is
zero comparison to slaves and a bunch of overly compensated athletes
college or pro. Period. I feel like this is a totally different
conversation than what we had otherwise I would've been totally in
agreement with every single thing you mentioned today.

This is far from deflection. I'm the one trying to stick to the points of
the conversation we actually had last week. You deflected turning it into a
slave "mentality" discussion of which I'm guessing wouldn't have been
disputed by anyone on the call.
