To whom it may concern,
I have gotten myself in quite the pickle for registration this fall semester. Last fall I decided I wanted to change my major from physics to Computer Science, however I did not file the paperwork for the major change request form.
When I registered for the spring semester I simply used the course catalog to find out what classes I should take if I wanted to pursue a degree in Computer Science. I talked to my physics advisor (Dr. Podila) and he said that he would clear me for registration this spring but just this once, and that I needed to change my major.
Well here I am now in the spring and I still have not changed my major. As a sophomore I am supposed to register this Monday, I have a general idea of what classes I need to take however I haven't met with anyone in the computer science department.
I have printed and filled out my major change request form however I still need to get it signed by both departments and let it process through student records. My only concern is that once it has processed and I can be advised by someone in the Computer science department I will have already missed registration for fall.
I understand that this is probably annoying and it's my fault for not formally changing my major day one. Is there anything left I can do so that I will be able to register for classes this fall?
Thanks,
Luke
