Clemson MBA Networking Forum- February 14

Please save the date for our annual Networking Forum.  It will take place the morning of February 14.  This is our yearly event where students will have one on one 10 minute interviews with area companies that are looking to hire. I will be sending out information on how to RSVP as well as the list of companies later this month so you will have an idea of who you will get the opportunity to meet.

Grainger Distribution Center Tour- February 21

Following our Corporate Briefing with Grainger last week, they have graciously invited us to visit their distribution center in Fountain Inn for a tour on Thursday, February 21 at 10:30am. 2013 Clemson MBA Ethics Case Competition- March 5

Please see the attached announcement for the 2013 Clemson MBA Ethics Case Competition.  The event will be held at Clemson at the Falls on Wednesday, March 5 from 5:00-8:30pm.

Three teams of three MBA students will compete. Each team will have 15 minutes to present their response to a case, followed by 10-15 minutes of questions from the judges and other observers. A scoring rubric will be used and the judges will be representatives from various organizations around the Greenville Business Community.
Participating MBA students/team members will have the opportunity to attend, be introduced and to assist Linda Gallicchio (from the Rutland Institute) in an interactive "Ethics Day" presentation at the Rotary Club of Greenville. This is one of the best places to meet leading executives in the Greenville community, and is a great networking opportunity.  Prizes will also be awarded to the winning team.
Dr. Wueste from the Rutland Institute will host a practice session for all participating teams during lunch on February 19 .

The US Agency for International Development are currently recruiting for their Summer 2013 Internship Program, which consists of 25 internships based within the Agency's Washington, DC headquarters. Their internships are paid and offer students and recent alumni, interested in international development, the opportunity to work within USAID.  They currently have six internships in particular that are geared towards students and alumni from a business/supply chain background.  I have attached more information for your review and with directions on how to apply.  The deadline is 5pm on Monday, January 28.

CU- ICAR is seeking MBA students to assist with a marketing analysis project on a team with city and county officials.  This project be working to see if it is feasible for a company (who wants to remain confidential until students are chosen) to relocate their operations to Greenville. News From Your Librarian: Meredith Futral

Did you know.....
You can borrow books in the Clemson library collection without coming to Cooper Library.

Here is how you can request a book:
Go to the Distance Education guide: http://clemson.libguides.com/DistanceEd
Click on the 'Request Materials' tab.
Look on the right side under 'I Need a Book'.
Search the Clemson Library Catalog to find books.
Under #1, look for this option: 'If it's available at Clemson, click here to check it out and have it delivered to your location'.
When you click the link, you will be prompted to enter your userid and password (you may be asked twice)
Fill out the form and the book will be found and sent to you.
The book will be mailed to your home address.

You can return books to the F. W. Symmes Library and Media Center at the University Center in Greenville (UCG) on S. Pleasantburg Drive (near Laurens Rd.).  If you don't want to return the books to UCG, you can mail them back.

The books will be checked out to you for 6 weeks, unless it is a popular fiction book.  Popular fiction checkout is for 4 weeks.  Books can be renewed online through My Library Account. My Library Account can be accessed from the library homepage: http://www.clemson.edu/library

Student IDs

There is currently a hold on the Tiger1 office making and sending out any additional student id's.  They are having a major system issue with the new process and until further notice will not make and mail them to us.  They did offer that if you need your ID sooner, you can drive to campus to their office where they can go into their system to check and ensure that all is good before printing it for you.
