High-tech companies to offer internships

The Next Innovation Center<http://www.greenvillenext.com/> is partnering with more than 20 high-tech companies<http://www.interngreenville.com/> in Greenville to offer internships for high school and college students this summer.

Positions available<http://www.interngreenville.com/> are focused on the areas of technology, marketing and online media. There are openings for software developers, online marketers, graphic designers, marketing/event supporters, health care research/grant writers and social media specialists.

The Next initiative is an Upstate innovation hub that nurtures high-impact, high-tech, knowledge-based companies with the potential for significant growth. The Next visionaries want this innovation hub to become a globally-recognized entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Intern Greenville initiative gives students the chance to gain experience with high-tech companies and to see the future job opportunities in the area. This is also an effort to place educated job seekers into local technology jobs, therefore helping to raise the Upstate's standard of living.

Dealer Ignition, Lab 21, Orange Coat, Tech after Five, W, Engenius, Ledger Work Inc., ProActive Technology, The Next Big Thing, Working Title, Gnoso, Mail Protector, PromoPipeline, Varigence, Worthwhile, GSATC, Merge, Sensortech, Vigilix and Zipit are all offering internships.

"Experience is such a key in today's job market," said Chris Manley, Engenius<http://www.engeniusweb.com>' managing partner in a news release. "We are excited to offer opportunities for local students to gain professional experience and show them all that Greenville has to offer."
