Clemson MBA Networking Forum- February 14

Please save the date for our annual Networking Forum.  It will take place the morning of February 14 from 9am-12pm.  This is our yearly event where students will have one on one 10 minute interviews with area companies that are looking to hire. Grainger Distribution Center Tour- February 21

Following our Corporate Briefing with Grainger last week, they have graciously invited us to visit their distribution center in Fountain Inn for a tour on Thursday, February 21 at 10:30am. 2013 Clemson MBA Ethics Case Competition- March 5

Please see the attached announcement for the 2013 Clemson MBA Ethics Case Competition.  The event will be held at Clemson at the Falls on Wednesday, March 5 from 5:00-8:30pm.

Three teams of three MBA students will compete. Each team will have 15 minutes to present their response to a case, followed by 10-15 minutes of questions from the judges and other observers. A scoring rubric will be used and the judges will be representatives from various organizations around the Greenville Business Community.
Participating MBA students/team members will have the opportunity to attend, be introduced and to assist Linda Gallicchio (from the Rutland Institute) in an interactive "Ethics Day" presentation at the Rotary Club of Greenville. This is one of the best places to meet leading executives in the Greenville community, and is a great networking opportunity.  Prizes will also be awarded to the winning team.
Dr. Wueste from the Rutland Institute will host a practice session for all participating teams during lunch on February 19 .

Job duties:

Requirements:

·         Must live within a 30-minute commute to downtown Greenville.

·         Must not currently be working in a permanent position.

·         Must be available M-F 8:30-5:30am/ able to work 40 hours per week.

·         Ability to work with a large group and take direction from multiple contacts.

·         Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Must have good written/verbal communication skills, and be comfortable speaking to all levels of employees on the phone and in person.

Bring your lunch and join Meredith for a session filled with information about library resources available to help you with all of your business research papers and projects.  I have attached the schedule for the semester.

Picking the Right Database for your Business Research
Do you need to write a business paper or thesis?  What are the databases Clemson has focused on scholarly business literature?  How do you search them to find articles?  Can you search the Wall Street Journal Online?  How does Google Scholar fit into your searching?  Come and find out.

Did you know.....
You can borrow books from other colleges and universities in South Carolina.

Here is how you can search for and request a book:
Search the Pascal catalog<http://www.pascalcat.org/>
When you click on a book title, click on the link to 'Display Holdings of PASCAL Libraries'
Look at the status to make sure the book is 'Available'
If a book is available, click on 'Request this Item'
Choose Clemson from the Institution drop down menu, then click 'Submit above information'
On the Request Verification page, type in your Clemson Userid and Password
Choose a Pickup Institution from the drop down menu
You can choose the University Center of Greenville (There are several other Greenville and Spartanburg locations if they are more convenient for you)
Once you choose the institution, the pickup location will be filled in
Click Submit

You will receive an e-mail when the book is available for pick-up at the location you choose.

Once you are through with the book, return it to the University Center in Greenville or the institution where you picked up the book.

The books will be checked out to you for 6 weeks.  There is no renewal allowed for Pascal books.
