[MBA-FT-Students] Assistantship w/ College of Engineering and Science

Dear Students,

The College of Engineering and Science wishes to hire a graduate administrative assistant in their department starting Fall Semester 2013.  The student will receive an annual salary at $12,000.00 for 15 hours/week.  This position will also include a tuition waiver (reduction in tuition costs to the student).

The graduate student will perform general accounting for approximately 500 in-force grants/contracts which includes monthly reconciliation by utilizing campus-generated budget status reports.  It will require preparation of spreadsheets and statistical analysis for the grants/contracts in the COES.  PeopleSoft training will be a necessity.


Another aspect of the assistantship will be to assist with federal (Title 2 CFR Chapter II/Code of Federal Regulations; Cost Principles for Educational Institutions), state, university, and sponsor compliance as it relates to sponsored research.  The student will review required backup documentation for compliance issues and document concerns that need to be addressed, resolved, or modified.

The student will also assist with closeout procedures for the grants/contracts and perform general office duties including filing as required.

Responsibilities of the assistantship as applied to sponsored research should provide and enhance the student's technical knowledge and skill application related to their graduate business degree.  The student's background will assist in maintaining and streamlining accounting controls and procedures for COES in sponsored research.
