Position Description
We are seeking experienced distribution center professionals to join our team. This position does not have direct reports, but supports Distribution Center (DC) Operations and will be a member of a project team. This project team is responsible for developing and implementing a new training program for DC and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) processes. This position will also help support Distribution Centers with steps to improve product flows and storage space utilization. The successful candidate will have 4-6 years leadership experience in a high volume, multi-shift distribution center. You will have the ability to utilize your extensive and proven interpersonal, employee development and team-building skills. You will be experienced in LEAN, Six Sigma and have some exposure to project management. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your warehouse operations and leadership experience with a Fortune 500 Company.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
* Learn operational and WMS processes quickly and be able to develop step-by-step process maps
* Develop training documents that follow DC and system processes
* Work with project team members and consultants to develop training courses for DC personnel
* Deliver training material and start-up support to DC managers and associates
* Manage processes to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, continual process improvement
* Manage project and deliverable deadlines
* Ensure quality and effectiveness of all processes performed within a given area of responsibility.
* Work with the Distribution Centers to enhance process flow and storage efficiency
* Provide central support for DCs during new building, expansion and racking reconfiguration efforts
* Insure compliance with Company, OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
Position Requirements
*At least 4 years of previous leadership experience in a high volume, multi-shift order fulfillment distribution center dealing with large employee populations.
*Undergraduate degree in business, management, logistics, materials management or a related field of study.
*Experience in LEAN and Six Sigma.
*Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
*Proven training and employee development skills with a strong emphasis on team building.
*Proven process improvement experience and effective leadership skills.
*Ability to develop and maintain positive employee, customer and cross-functional team relations.
*Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
*At least 2 years experience with multiple modules within a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required.
*Experience with SAP is preferred.
*Ability to travel extensively to other Distribution Centers and field locations. During program implementation (3-4 month periods), travel will be 100%. Outside of these periods, travel will be minimal.
