There are sample business plans, how-to guides, and articles on how to start, finance, and manage a small business.  This database contains over 400 full-text articles and over 450 full-text reference books.  You will also find videos that cover many aspects of starting and growing a small business.

Small Business Development Public Relations Workshop<mailto:pballen at clemson.edu>

The Small Business Development Center is putting on a workshop on September 28th from 9-11am at Clemson at the Falls.  The workshop is entitled Public Relations 101. United Ministries


The “Clemson MBA Community Mentors” program with United Ministries is still going strong.  Thank you to those of you who have taken the time to volunteer and work with United Ministries to be a mentor to their students.  Keith Trout, their Executive Director, told us that success stories always come because of the relationships that their students build with their mentors.  Some just need that extra boost of confidence and support that they might not be getting from home.

This program does not have a specific time requirement so you can come and go as it fits your schedule.  If you are interested in learning more or volunteering, please contact Mary Allen Murphy from United Ministries directly at 335-2606 for the application and additional information.

University Professional Internship and Co-Op Program

The University Professional Internship and Co-Op program is now accepting site mentor applications for part-time internship experiences for the Spring 2013 Semester.

Student engagement is one of Clemson University’s four areas of investment for its 2020 Road Map. The on-campus internship initiative is a vital part of the creation of a campus-wide culture in which students participate in meaningful and relevant developmental experiences. About 40 student interns are expected to be hired for the spring semester, and that number should grow to 400 students by 2016.

The deadline for site mentors to submit is Sept. 30, and Site Application and Position Description Forms can be found online at: http://career.clemson.edu/OCI_program/departments/index.php

PULSE PaceSetters Applications


Applications for the 2013 PaceSetters Class are open on the Greenville Chamber Website.  PULSE PaceSetters is a group mentoring program designed to connect high-potential, young professionals with Greenville's most successful leaders. This program affords its members the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through training sessions, mentoring with successful leaders, and networking with other young professionals.
