Location Information
Grainger's Greenville Distribution Center is a 1.1 million ft2 building with nearly 500 team members shipping an average of $3 million per day in customer shipments as well as replenishing 90 branch locations every day. Operating 5 days per week and shipping both domestically to the Eastern half of the US and internationally to the rest of the world as the largest volume location in Grainger's supply chain network. Our environment is fast paced with focus on quality and customer experience.
Opportunity Information
We are seeking an individual to learn about our business by working with our leadership team in solving critical business challenges.
During this time the intern will be exposed to learning opportunities intended to:
*Develop an in-depth understanding of the DC processes/functions as well as high level understanding of the company processes/functions.
*Learn to facilitate and/or lead various teams that generate creative team member involvement in the improvement of DC processes and subsequent customer experience.
*Develop the skill to review opportunities for continuous improvement of warehouse and customer service processes.
*Salary will be based upon experience.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to interact with leaders and team members.
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to communicate effectively across vertical and horizontal lines.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to drive results.
*Successful completion of atleast one semester of MBA course work.
